I'm an unwilling convert to these great shoes! Nov 20, 2007
By Stac3y I really thought these shoes were a stupid idea--how can you kick properly in shoes, really? However, I've tried four or five types of foot pads and always had problems with slippage, straps getting between my toes, and with my feet getting sore. I broke down and bought a pair of these this weekend at a tournament, and they absolutely rock! No matter what you do, they absolutely do not slip. They are less bulky than a lot of foot pads, so they allow more precisely targeted kicking. I was worried that competing in them without practicing in them first would be a problem, but there was exactly zero adjustment time. They aren't as flexible as traditional footpads, but I found that I was still able to flex my foot back to do a good side kick. I also got kicked with a couple of different pairs of them (hey, you can't block every kick) and they did not hurt any more than regular footpads. When these wear out, I will definitely buy more.
Horrible Martial Art Shoes Nov 05, 2011
By Dragon I strongly recommend for you not to buy this shoe. I usually order my products from Centruy but they do not have customer reviews like Amazon & I made a huge mistake by purchasing this shoe. When I recieved the shoe I was very disappointed. They are heavy & bulky. It will make it feel like you are sparring with boots on. It is silly, you will feel like Bozo the clown, that's how awkward these shoes feel. I am going to send it in for a refund but unfortunately I am responsible for shipping to and from so I will lose out in $20. But these are some of the most horrible shoes I have ever seen for the Martial Arts, I recommend the Adidas shoes which are much lighter & comfortable or wrestling shoes, there are also shoes called Turf Martial Art shoes available at KungFu4less.com that look very similar to the Adidas MA shoes that are very affordable at $25/pair. I have also tried the Feiyue MA Shoes that they say is very popular in China, I don't recommend those either.

As most of us, I had to get the starter package when I first entered the Taekwondo place, but realized soon after my second sparring class, that those regular student sparring shoes you have to purchase aren't any good at all. So my Master recommended these and after reading a few reviews, I was convinced, that they will do the job. I was very surprised about the weight and how well they were made. Only con, the sole should be stitched at the bottom, not on the side. They stretch a little, so go a little smaller when you order them. I usually wear a size 9, but ordered 10 because I wear socks and ankle braces underneath them, and they fit just fine. Overall, after a few sparring sessions, they are holding up fine, haven't shown any wear and apparently don't hurt too much when I kick my partner. For a regular class I find the too bulky but for sparring just awesome.
Fight Pro Martial Arts Training Shoe Jul 22, 2010
By jtbaca The jury is still out for me. The right show fits perfectly and so far so good, but the left shoe seems to have a slight problem. The tongue seems to be slightly shorter than the one on the right shoe. The tongue is hitting my ankle in the wrong place and hurts. The right shoe tongue is long enough not to hurt my ankle.
Go figure
