Ok, but a ways off from other foam stars excellency. Jul 29, 2008
By D. TRUONG I used to train with these a few years ago, but they were hardened foam rubber. The material used in these are very high percentage if not all rubber, similar to whats in tires. The amount of flex involved in flight is unacceptable (not realistic to real shuriken) causes drift and doesn't quite have the velocity or straight flight path as a metal Shuriken or the foam rubber ones I mentioned. The amount of spins are much less in flight as well. The foam stars of the past flew with just a quick short flick of the fingers and spun quicker allowing a finer more accurate throw.
Unfortunately it is increasingly difficult to find those and these suffice.
On the contrary, only a perfect throw is accepted with these and will teach you discipline, and still will fly decently for 100 feet, and curves after that. The hardened foam stars mentioned before will fly straight for past 200 feet with a medium power throw or 300 feet or more past the persons line of vision.
With a little practice and a little force this will fly nicely, but don't expect greatness or flicking it slightly and it going very far.
Not bad though, great price so its hard to complain. If you can find the hardened foam rubber hybrid, get those. I'd give it
7.5/10 stars based on my own comparisons with real Shuriken and other practice foam stars.

Very safe for throwing at your friends Dec 21, 2010
By Libby1423 I purchased these ninja stars as part of my halloween costume. They are very sturdy but safe enough to throw around the house. So for their purpose, they were perfect!
Rubber star fun Jun 15, 2011
By JEANNIE My son turned 8 and was all about these Ninja rubber stars. At first, I was hesitant to purchase them due to his safety. However, they turned out to be
safer than I had expected. I told him to be careful and watched him with them, he threw them and they would bounce off of things. As with any toy an injury
would be possible if used the wrong way, or thrown with intent to hurt some one. However, the soft rubber texture on these stars is as good as a toy Ninja
star could be for safety.
