Description:

Genuine, top grade black leather with high density foam padding for extra protection. This is the kind of headguard you wear because you want protection from blows to the head (as opposed to, say, hitting your head on the ground after you pass out).

It also has an adjustable top and a wide leather / velcro closing strap with on the back of the head.

As with all headguards, if you're between sizes, we always recommend you go UP in size. Headgear that's too small can be very uncomfortable.

These are top-of-the-line Piranha Gear head guards. Yes, these ARE the same ones that are normally $80.

On the outside, these are very similar to another style we carry, but these have thicker stitching, slightly denser foam and heavy adjustment straps. They were designed specifically for people that are working out every day and want something serious for protection.

good headgear and great service May 11, 2010
I needed a good headgear in a hurry before the next sparring session. Celia from Piranha Gear read my mind (or deduced it from the details of my order) and upgraded the shipping for me. It just arrived today with a handwritten thank-you note.

I chose the size based on their size chart posted at [...], and the guard fits as if it was made for me (well, it's adjustable). Based on controlled but sufficiently severe blows to the head inflicted by myself and my wife, I've concluded that it protects well without limiting the user's vision or head movement. It has an added benefit of not making me look like a Teletubby, which can't be said of other headgears I've used. The adjusting lace on top is a touch tacky but that's easy to address.

Shipping cost seemed high to me, but with extra credit from great customer service, 5 stars altogether.

Protects very well Dec 20, 2009
This headgear works much better than the Everlast durahide headgear I had. It has protection on the chin and cheeks, which lots of other headgears don't have. The thing is easy to put on and doesn't have annoying straps under the chin. Finally, the headgear itself isn't stiff - it conforms to your head, making it comfortable.

The headgear is great quality for the price, and the shipping was extremely fast. I live in Hawaii and things from the mainland usually take a long time to arrive, my headgear got here in a few days. I placed an order with another company for some fight gear on the same day, and it hasn't even left the warehouse yet! I have already recieved the headgear before the other company even shipped my gear. I recommend buying from Piranha gear. Aloha.

I bought this head gear because I had had a previous good experience with Piranha Gear. They did not disappoint. It's a great headgear at a great price. The only guys in the gym that have head gear near as nice as mine paid $40.00 more for theirs. Great fit, great protection, adjustable, and easy on and off.

Comfortable fit w/Excellent Customer Service Apr 08, 2009
I'd say I have a normal round head and this Piranha Head Guard fit perfect. It has plenty of protection. The cheek guards cover up alot more than the Everlast and fits more snug. Ive had this head guard for awhile now, been using it 5 times a week, received some pretty good blows to the head and it still is holding up like it were brand new.
Also, super quick shipment. I am deployed and I got this a lot sooner than expected. The customer service is awesome. They took the time to personally thank me for my service, twice! This is something you wouldnt expect from a seller, which puts Piranha Gear and their store at the top of my list. From now on I will only buy my boxing products from here.
