Best Martial Arts Pants Jul 17, 2009
By W. McMillin I respect all the Piranha gear stuff. They have great service and make great products. I needed a pair of heavy weight pants to go with my TKD black belt uniform. I tried several different ones but could never find something I liked. I tried these based on my experience with the company. These are perfect. They are traditional draw string waist with double loops so one can get the fit correctly. The cord stays tied without any problems which is great because sometimes this can be a problem. The material is nice and heavy but without being stiff so freedom of movement is no trouble. The pants are roomy enough that I can easily put on shin pads when sparring and get them off after which is something of a problem with other heavy weight pants.
I did not realize how much I liked these pants until I forgot my judo pants. I attend a judo class right after the TKD class I teach. I most often change into my judo gi but once I forgot my judo pants. These pants made it through a serious hour of grappling and did admirably.
These pants are comfortable enough while performing head kicks or trying for a triangle. I have these in two sizes. I am 6'1" and have both a size 5 and a size 6. The size 6 comes all the way down to the foot as most people wear TKD uniforms and the size 5 comes to the ball on the ankle.

Great Karate Pants May 04, 2010
By Kevin Au Firstly this is my first experience with Piranha Gear and I am more than pleased with how they do business.
Secondly these pants are the perfect blend of comfort and strength. The material has a nice heavy feel to it but the interior of the waist is lined with softer material so its not scratching into you. They fasten with a drawstring so fit isn't a problem, and so far I've never had a problem with a simple bow knot coming undone during my training. They have a very nice range of motion, from butterfly stretches to high side kicks they don't restrict in any way.
My older Gis were made by Century and comparing that to Piranha Gear I can say I've definitely switched to Piranha. I stand about 6' 2" and wearing a size 6, the bottom of the legs comes to just about 2 inches above the ball of my heel.

Great yogic flying pants. Sep 16, 2010
By synapticjuice I got these pants to practice yogic flying in. They are loose so I can sit in lotus easily and there is no chaffing. Also my boys down there are not restricted. When I walk to the golden domes for meditation these pants only come down to just above my ankle so I don't have to hike them up when walking though the early morning dew on the grass. Top pants.

Great pant... but May 12, 2010
By James P. Hinckley

I've only had the pant a few months and so far I love them. They're certainly heavy duty material yet after a few washes they began to soften up nicely. I like the double loops rather than one single one in the middle. The drawstring will probably never die yet still ties without coming undone if you give it a good tight pull. I'm only 5'10" and got the size 5. The fit is VERY loose and short, but I like them short so my heels don't catch in the back when I'm kicking. My only complaint is the stitching holding the drawstring tunnel together is already coming apart. I'll probably just hand sew it when it get a little worse, but I expected it to last MUCH longer befotre giving out.
Very satisfied. Will buy from them again. Apr 27, 2011
By Cherie Cornmesser I bought these pants because of all of the great customer reviews they had here. I am a large curvy girl who likes to train hard and was having difficulty with my gi holding up to my 6 hour a week aikido schedule. Also was looking for gi pants that would allow me more freedom of movement and comfort than the ones I had been wearing previously.
These pants impressed me right out of the package. The detailed care instructions and customer service were fantastic. The pants themselves are a very soft weave and don't get stiff as a board after washing and drying.
This is the most comfortable I have been in a training uniform since I started training. The pants are very roomy and the drawstring is easy to manage and stays tied. They did not shrink very much after several warm water washes so I did wind up having to trim 4 inches off the cuff and hem them.
After several months of use they have not shown any wear where my previous pants were beginning to show stress in key areas.
I would agree with the others that these pants run a little large compared to other gi.
I like them so much I plan to buy a full gi set from this company in the near future.
