I have practiced martial arts for quite some time and have only done a little Escrima but it's enough to know that I can not recommend anyone to buy these sticks from this company. I would go to a different company first. I understand there should be some variation but not as much as what I received. It is very awkward when one stick is noticeably larger in diameter than the other. Not to mention that mine were already splitting at the end. Even with low quality rattan they should not fray until an honest amount of use and these were already splitting at the end. I will have to mark them so I use the one end only and even for that use they will be beater sticks or loaners.
Suggestion - If you want a cheap pair of sticks and are purchasing from this company, look for a rattan bo and cut the sticks yourself, this way you will at least have consistency in diameter! And if anyone from this company reads this review, please do yourself and future customers the favor of looking at the sticks you are grabbing for an order and at least try to get some that are similar in diameter.

Well, seems like I've been fooled! The sticks are 26 inches instead of 28. More over the pattern is not the same. Anyway, do not buy this item.

Upon receiving these escrima sticks, I was very disappointed. They are different sizes and completely different weights. One is almost twice as heavy as the other and is about 1.25 times as thick. They don't even appear to be made of the same material. I puchased this set because I thought I would get two comprable sticks (as apposed to buying two singles). I was extremely mistaken. Granted, they were not all that expensive (but they were the same price as buying two singles of pretty much any brand). So, it's not even worth the shipping and restocking fees to send them back.

The sticks broke on first use during escrimar warmup. Unlike regular sticks, it broke and didnt get crushed. Anyone who practices escrima understands that sticks can get crushed after hundreds of hits, but not on the first!
Avoid! The piece that broke flew across the room and could have harmed somebody.

I received the wrong item first. They made up for it by having me keep the bag they sent me. The items in the picture are not what you will receive. They were only 26 inches and didn't have the metal straps on the end. When I inquired into it with Martial Art SuperMarket this is the response I received:
"They are the samething. Wood has veriations in sizes because they are natrual wood products. They do not come with metal end caps, the picture shown has "Chrome Proforce Stickers" which look like caps but they are not. If you dont like them you can return them for a refund."
This is a little unbelievable considering these sticks are cut to size and were both the exact same length.
