Excellent product at a good value. Superb customer service! Oct 05, 2007
By Darren Widder I'm 6'4" and about 285lb. I ordered a size 6 and it was too small in the jacket. I contacted Piranha Gear and they quickly responded to my request for an exchange. I have never experienced such excellent customer service online until this purchase. I received my size 7, and it fit perfectly. It is comfortable; not scratchy at all. The jacket it very thick and durable, but it breathes and collects sweat very well. The pants are reinforced at the knees and do not wear easily. If I ever need another Gi I'm buying from Piranha Gear.

Good beginner gi Dec 23, 2007
By Mumuplata For 30+ bucks, this is a good gi. I gave it four out of five because gi's this cheap usually are low in quality. Surprisingly, this gi exceeded my expectations. When I first tried it, I thought about how thin the material was, and was a little skeptical about the durability of the gi. However, after a couple of rough rolls on the mat, the gi is still in one piece.
The only gripe I have about the gi is that the collar is very thin, opponents can easily apply chokes. I would recommend this gi to a beginner, but if you've been training in bjj for a while then definitely check out the more expensive brands.
Good:
Low Price
Light
Bad:
Collar and material are very thin

good value and service Apr 09, 2009
By Kace I got this item for my son. The quality of the product is very high for its cost. For sure you can get something of higher quality but you must be willing to pay much more too. This is a great gi for a beginner or a kid that will abuse it and will grow out of it. However, I am sure that my son will outgrow it before seen any tears or damage. It is also an excellent backup gi if you happen to forget the dirty one in the bag. The washing instructions that were included are critical because this is an all cotton unit that will shrink in hot water and in a dryer, there is no way to avoid it. The only thing to be aware is that the sizing charts do not allow for errors and if you plan to wash your gi in hot water and use the dryer you should buy at least a bigger size.

Good Product for a Great Price Feb 24, 2009
By Max I bought this Gi so my wife can practice her BJJ moves with me. Seems well made I have not found any flaws. For the price this is perfect if you are just starting out in the martial arts and not sure you will stick with it. Not as heavy or stiff as more expensive Gi and may not hold up as well if you compete, train hard and work out daily but for the price who cares you can buy 2 or 3 more.

Good practice gi. Oct 10, 2008
By J. Means Overall, I am very pleased with this gi. It is a great beginner gi and a good practice gi for more seasoned grapplers. So far, it has held up very nicely. The only negatives that I have to point out are that the cuffs are not tapered very well so theres a lot of extra material to be grabbed and the collar is thin and not very rigid. These are not really that bad if you use it for general training. This is definitely NOT a competition gi.
