Description:

The straight bladed ninja sword is equipped with a handmade carbon steel blade that has been etched with an intricate oriental dragon design and sharpened to a razor edge. Polished to a mirror finish the blade is etched on both sides and forged using different degrees of steel hardness, forming a natural hamon (tempered line). Housed in a polished black wooden saya (scabbard) coated in a lustrous black lacquer. The sageo (scabbard cord) is black and matches with the black leather wrapped ito (braid) on the tsuka (handle). Underneath the tsuka is real same (ray skin) which contrasts nicely with the antique dragon menuki (handle ornament). The intricately designed tsuba (guard) displays a fierce oriental dragon, molded into a square from a brass-zinc mixture, coated with an antique finish. Cotton sword bag included, great for storing your katana while transporting. Measures 41 inches closed, 40 inches open with a 28 inch straight blade length. Weighs 3lbs 3oz closed, and 2lbs 11oz open.

Sword is amazing for the price Dec 08, 2009

This sword is exceptionally made and well-balanced. It does not look like nor feel like a prop sword. It is the real thing. I was skeptical when I saw the price but extremely surprised when the sword was delivered. It is everything I hoped for. It has a weight to it which makes it ideal for weapons training. It also seems sturdy enough to be used for the same yet exquisite enough for display. I purchased this as a gift for my best friend who is a purple belt, and he absolutely loved it. I would not hesitate to recommend this sword to others nor would I hesitate to purchase another one.

Great Sword! The Tsuba has a dragon on it with great detail, the etching of the dragon on the actual blade is ok, but still looks great. The Scabbard is of nice quality too. It's sturdy feels good in your hands, and the blade is sharp (not exactly sure if its razor sharp, I don't have a way of telling). I didn't buy a cleaning or sharpening kit with the katana. I got mine from the dealer. Sword Demon, it came really fast. The only thing that I had to do was whip the blade off, I used just a dry paper towel. It made the blade look a lot better, it had some type of black residue on it. with a quick whipping the blade was shinning....I definitely recommend this sword for the collector or whatever your reasoning is, It's a great quality sword for the price!....
